**As a Ledgers Clerk your duties will include**:
Reporting into the Senior Purchase Ledger Clerk your responsibilities will include Purchase and Sales Ledgers, Credit Control and banking:

- The processing of supplier invoices in line with approval limits
- Responding to suppliers and other day-to-day queries
- Reviewing and reconciling supplier statements on a monthly basis, bringing any issues to the attention of the Senior Purchase Ledger Clerk
- Assisting with supplier payment runs on a weekly basis
- Aged creditor analysis and housekeeping, including unallocated cash reports
- Aged debtor analysis and housekeeping, including unallocated cash reports
- Identify potential sales invoice problems / issues and take appropriate action to mitigate risk
- To liaise with Operational contacts and Managers regarding Sales Invoicing and debt collection
- Mailbox management, ensuring invoices and statements are printed, processed and filed for both Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger
- Setting up new customers and new suppliers
- Support the month end process ensuring all transactions are posted and allocated by the close of period. Assist with running month end reports.
- Participate in team projects
- Year End activities - Support team and assist audit with any queries
- Provide holiday cover where required

**What you will need to succeed**:

- This position requires someone with experience working in a Finance Department doing similar tasks, and could be working towards a professional Finance qualification
- Good phone manner, writing and customer service orientation
- The person doing this role will have great investigative and problem solving skills
- The person doing this role must be flexible, resilient, have a great attitude and enjoy working with colleagues to complete the work and solve problems
- The person doing this role will be competent in Microsoft Office, Word and Excel but not expert
- The person doing this role will have a basic knowledge of accounting principles
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- This position requires someone with an ability to deal with large volumes effectively and efficiently
- Training will be given where appropriate to help develop skill set. Strong planning and organising skills, to meet strict deadlines for reporting
