**Business Support Officer**

Based at our Head Office in Diss, you will provide business support, data entry and administration to support the effective and efficient running of Solo Housing.

**Overall objectives of the role**:

- Reception and administrative duties to support Solo Housing in providing an excellent service.

**Main duties**:

- Ensure all computerised and manual records and systems are updated and maintained accurately according to the needs of the business
- Recording and receiving incoming and outgoing post
- Support the organisation with formatting information, letters, reports, and social media updates that are professional and consistent with Solo Housing brand
- Support the organisation with ordering and receiving deliveries including stationery and other office assets
- Communicate with outside contractors and residents in arranging appointments for repairs and maintenance
- Support the organisation in arranging training and booking venues, etc

**General Responsibilities**:

- Take on any other duties consistent with this post as agreed with the line manager, respond to the changing needs of the organisation, the team and the service users and adapt working practices accordingly
- Communicate effectively with other staff and contribute to the development of the staff team
- Participate in the cover of colleagues work as part of the Business Support Team
- Support the recruitment, training and induction of new staff as required
- Attend training where it is identified
- Attend and participate in regular supervision and annual appraisals
- Adhere to the policies and procedures of Solo Housing
- Positively promote the work of Solo Housing to other organisations
- Work occasional flexible hours as appropriate to the needs of the post.

**Knowledge and skills required**:

- Previous experience of face-to-face customer service
- Previous experience of data entry
- Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal communication
- Confident and compassionate customer communication skills
- Numerate
- Good time management skills, ability to prioritise, work to deadlines & meet targets.
- Able to form and maintain good working relationships at all levels internally & externally
- Ability to resolve, anticipate & prevent problems
- Able to take responsibility & work independently & flexibly
- Use of databases, spreadsheets, and word processing systems
- An eye for detail

**Desirable skills**:

- Previous experience of working in a housing charity or organisation
- Existing skills in Microsoft Office packages

FTE salary - £23,317 - pro rata 22.5 hours
