**About This Role**:
As UK Head of External Affairs, you are responsible for telling the story of Just Eat’s success, overseeing a proactive and reactive programme of UK activity focused on engaging the company’s key external stakeholders, through the media and political audiences. This work ensures stakeholders have a better understanding of the Just Eat story and positively drives our brand reputation.
The UK Head of External Affairs is the “go to” person in the business when a crisis issue arises and is responsible for planning and preparing for these events. You’ll have a broad network of stakeholders both internally and externally, and a knack for grasping detail quickly across a myriad of different topics including sustainability, health, employment, food hygiene and food safety.

You’ll also work closely and collaboratively with the global corporate communications and investor relations function to coordinate, influence and advise on UK related reputational issues. The role leads the UK corporate communications and public affairs teams, and manages external resources such as the company’s public affairs and communications agencies.

**These are some of the key ingredients of the role**:

- Sit as a trusted, senior member of the UK Management team, advising this team, and other senior stakeholders and colleagues in the UK business, on reputational issues and the impact of commercial decisions;
- Oversee the development and implementation of sound external affairs strategies, programmes, and policies for internal and external stakeholders to build a positive reputation for Just Eat within corporate media and political audiences;
- Oversee, lead and line manage the UK corporate communications and public affairs teams, to achieve business and people objectives;
- Develop and implement crisis management strategies to alleviate crisis situations and maintain a positive reputation through corporate comms and public affairs;
- Deliver reliable reputational reporting at a senior level internally, using available benchmarking, insights and KPIs;
- Confidently represent Just Eat at external events and meetings with relevant stakeholders;
- Oversee the development of the departmental strategy, budget and allocation of resources.

***What will you bring to the table**:

- Significant senior level experience within corporate affairs, corporate communications and or public affairs;
- Demonstrable experience of advising executive level leadership teams on reputational issues, ideally within a high profile corporate or business environment;
- Politically and media savvy, with significant experience of influencing and building relationships with national and regional media, governments at all levels, and other external bodies;
- Ability to identify corporate reputational risks and opportunities in commercial business strategies and designing corporate affairs strategies for both;
- Demonstrable experience of dealing with high profile crisis management issues and developing robust mitigation strategies;
- Demonstrable experience of leading high performance teams, with the ability to motivate, provide feedback and line manage teams and individuals.
