We are recruiting a Specialist Young Person’s Worker to work in the Nottingham Transitions City service.
Our aim is to ensure that all support needs are comprehensively met by linking in relevant support services, working alongside Nottingham city children’s services and supporting young people with facilitating the development of young people’s life skills. The Nottingham Transitions service has shared accommodation at various locations across Nottingham.There is an expectation that all staff visit these properties on a daily basis to check in on the young people’s welfare and wellbeing. This is also an opportunity to carry out support sessions with the young people during these visits.
The role is hybrid with some time at our head office, out in the community and some based at home. The role involves shift work. Checks will also be carried out during weekends and bank holidays.
**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Build effective relationships with young people referred into the service.
- Travel to meet with young people in dispersed housing.
- Carry a caseload of young people, acting as their keyworker, co-producing support plans, risk assessments, crisis plans and safety plans.
- Attend all relevant statutory and multi-agency events (Child In Need Reviews, Initial and Review Child Protection Conferences, Looked After Children Reviews, Core Group Meetings, Strategy Meetings and Multi Agency Meetings) in respect of young people on the worker’s caseload.
- Has an excellent understanding of the issues that affect young people.
- Has experience of working with young people in an accommodation or youth work setting.
- Has experience of engaging with young people and building positive working relationships.
- Has an understanding of professional boundaries and Trauma Informed Care.
- Has intermediate IT skills as a minimum. Competent in MS Office and client record systems.
- Has a solid understanding of Child Protection and the Safeguarding needs of both adults and children/young people.
