**Job overview**:
**We are looking for a Materials Management Assistant to join our team at Rochdale Infirmary.**

You will work closely with the theatre teams ensuring effective stock control and items are sourced, requisitioned delivered and distributed within agreed time limits. Advising of price changes and any issues with deliveries or manufacturing problems.

**Main duties of the job**:

- Provision of an effective stock control service, ensuring all items are requisitioned, delivered and distributed within agreed time limits, reporting any problems to line manager.
- In conjunction with the specialist sisters and team leaders to review and audit stock levels.
- Advise Specialist sisters and Team Leaders of any cost changes.
- To pursue outstanding orders taking appropriate action should a delay be identified.
- Ensure all stock items are correctly coded, checking such stock against agreed stock levels.
- On receipt of non-stock orders ensure GRN or relevant documentation is sent to the appropriate department.
- As and when necessary ensure loan equipment is available for use.
- Operate and input to any local / National computerised systems, for supplies, within the department.
- Prioritize and coordinate the throughput of work within the central store.
- Liaise daily with the HSDU to ensure sterile products and instrumentation is available for use.
- Liaise daily with representatives from external suppliers.
- Liaise, as and when required with the Finance department.
- To undertake a monthly stock count of a selected range of theatre products providing accurate and timely information to the Theatre Manager. as requested.
- To ensure a standard of cleanliness in maintained within the central store at all times.
- To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, liaising closely with specialist sisters and Team Leaders
