**The role is primarily home based with occasional office days.** Reporting to the Governance and Support Leads the post holder will be part of the Governance & Support team responsible for ensuring the effective operational delivery and development of the Unit4 system on behalf of Cheshire East and Cheshire West and Chester authorities. The post holder’s primary functions will be to deliver the administration and maintenance of the UNIT4 positions and hierarchy alongside supporting the governance & support helpdesk and system development/defect resolution UAT. Any additional operational duties will be agreed between Transactional Services Manager (Governance & Support) and Lead Officers in line with the Governance & Support work plan and the postholder will need to be agile and resilient to deliver workloads will be required to support all functions of the team.
**Key Responsibilities**:

- As directed by the Governance and Support Lead (Business Support and Hierarchy) undertake the checking, creation, and amendment to positions and action hierarchy changes within appropriate timescales.
- Provide helpdesk support and ensure that all calls are recorded appropriately on the Halo system and escalated where necessary if complex and requiring 2nd line support.
- Where called upon within business needs carry out UAT, logging and reporting issues appropriately to appropriate lead officer and completing all associated documentation in line with service requirements.
- Where called upon within business needs and as directed work with Governance & Support Leads to assist with project work for the delivery of developments.
- Support delivery of technical, interface and development work/projects as directed by Transactional Services Manager (Governance & Support).

**Qualifications**:

- 5 GCSEs including English and Maths (Grade C or above or equivalent.

**Experience**:

- Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
- Sound knowledge of Transactional Finance / Procurement / Billing and Debt / Payments and Income /Recruitment and Pay processing - Desirable.
- Experience in designing and delivering training material - Desirable.
- Knowledge Essential: Knowledge of local authority financial policy and practice. Use of Microsoft office packages.
- Experience in customer relationship and negotiation / Influencing changes.

**Skills & Abilities**:

- An ability to identify client needs / maintain customer relationships / support customer requests / challenges and resolve them - Essential.
- Knowledge of Transactional Service processes - transactional Finance, Billing and Debt, Recruitment and Pay, Assessment Centre / procurement processes and financial regulations - Desirable.
- Ability to interpret and present financial data, statistics and trends in a meaningful way - Essential.
- Knowledge of best practice and of Council policies/practice and financial procedures - Desirable.
- Practical knowledge of Unit4 ERP system - Desirable.
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
