**The Role**

You will be a key member of the Operations team working closely with the Chief Operating Officer and leading day-to-day HR tasks and management. The role is an exciting new role for the Society, and you will be the main driver in helping the Chief Operating Officer to build the Societies HR strategy.

In brief your responsibilities will be:

- Lead the daily operations of the Society’s HR.
- Work closely with the Chief Operating Officer to build HR strategy and develop the culture of the Society.
- Work with department managers and Executive Directors on recruitment and onboarding for their respective teams.
- Ensure all employee performance management is maintained and performed, including developing HR strategy, annual appraisals, leading disciplinary meetings, exit interviews, conflict management etc.
- Build and maintain employee Relations. Working with all department managers to encourage a healthy and nice working environment. Manage staff wellbeing and support the Social and Events team in social activities.
- Work closely with the Training Specialist to ensure training is delivered.
- Talent Retention work with the Chief Operating Officer on retaining staff.
- Policy Development and Compliance. Compliance focus write, update, and deliver HR policies across the Society, ensuring compliance to current laws and regulations is met.
- Manage employee benefits program.
- Produce and maintain HR Analytics and Reporting. To be presented to the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive on a regular basis.
- Employee Engagement and Social Value.

**Who are we looking for?**

We are looking for someone who can deliver positive HR change from day 1. Someone with a number of years’ experience working in a HR setting and with either experience running a HR department or looking to take that next step up to lead one (please note there are no direct reports in this role). It is important also to either have firsthand experience in complying with HR law, policies etc. or have a background in law and the ability to learn the compliance. You will be supported by our third party HR consultants.

**Qualifications**
- Proven experience in HR.
- Ideally a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred or CIPD qualified
- Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proficient in data entry and record keeping.
