About me

I am 11 years old with autism diagnosis and currently in primary school. I need support to go out more and develop my social skills in and around my community, including attendance to play group activities that I will be signing up to. I have some difficulties in communicating effectively in spoken language, but my use of common phrases, cues and actions facilitate understanding. I like to follow routines and very much enjoy the outdoors, going for rides, and using my electronic gadgets. I need help with safety awareness when outside and guidance to follow social norms in public places. I also have three other health needs that need awareness.

About the Job
This is a real opportunity to support a disabled young person. The role entails providing community support to help build social skills and independence through play and other community events of relevance. I’m looking for a cheerful person with good understanding of autism who can help and support me and provide my parents with some respite.

Hours and rate of pay

3 to 4 hours per month outside of school hours (after school, weekends, school holidays) £11.44 per hour (this can be negotiated) Paid annual leave (pro-rata) Enhanced DBS required All relevant training will be givenYou will need:
