Akton Recruitment are working with the Local Authorities to fill a full time position for a Business Support Officer.

This position is initially on a 6 month contract with a possibility of extension.

Job Purpose
The Business Support Assistant will support the Business Support Team Leader and deliver the operational duties of their service/business area. The post holder will work with colleagues across the organisation in line with KNH’s core behaviours and values and contribute to the delivery of the organisation’s purpose, vision and objectives, ensuring positive outcomes for the business and KNH customers.

Responsibilities
- Provide typing and data processing support using a range of IT systems.
- Specialist word processing such as mailshot and reports.
- Organise meetings and support events, ensuring they are arranged and prepared for in a timely manner and are serviced and recorded appropriately through accurate minutes.
- Accurate and timely documents are produced and formatted to service standards and within deadlines.
- Effective stock management is maintained, and orders placed and processed using KNH’s ordering systems.
- Undertake project work (under supervision) as required.
- Ensure reception, kitchen areas and meeting rooms are kept tidy and stocked appropriately, liaising with the Facilities Manager and Cleaning Services as needed.
- Provide a comprehensive reception service, including meeting and greeting, responding to enquiries, and reporting arrivals to the appropriate officer.
- Ensure enquires are responded to sensitively and resolved appropriately directing more complex calls to the appropriate officer.
- Provide a post, scanning and indexing service, ensuring accurate distribution throughout the office, liaising with Document Solutions where needed.
- Be the go-to person in the business to respond to queries and issues with the printers and other office equipment. (All IT equipment will be the responsibility of the IT Service).
- Take a proactive role in all operational aspects of the relevant business/service area.
- Work collaboratively with the Team Leader to monitor, analyse and deliver improvements across all relevant performance indicator areas to increase customer satisfaction.
