This is a great opportunity to join Coventry & Warwickshire ICB as our Workforce EDI Officer.

The purpose of this role is to support improving the experience of people who work in our organisation, focusing on areas where we know that the experience of specific staff groups is poor in our organisation and on national priorities.

Our workforce information in particular our Workforce Race Equality and Workforce Disability Equality Standards require improvement in a number of areas, in addition to supporting the improvement this role will support our wider cultural change programme including ensuring the voice of our workforce is listened to and heard.

This post will work alongside the HR and Organisational Development Team to help embed equitable, fair practices and resources for our diverse workforce.

You will liaise and network with all levels of the organisation, to provide complex and professional advice, guidance, policy, and documentation that actively supports us to achieve compliance against employment priorities, targets, national and legislative frameworks.

You will work with colleagues, ensuring that equality, diversity, and inclusion is at the heart of our culture change programme.
- Providing equality, diversity & inclusion advice and guidance to managers, staff and key stakeholders at divisional and directorate level
- Increasing knowledge and understanding of EDI all colleagues
- Ensuring EDI is embedded within teams’ delivery and mainstreamed within our procedures and practices.
- Delivering the Workforce Race Equality Standard (WRES), Workforce Disability Equality Standard (WDES), Equality Delivery System (EDS) and Gender Pay Gap (GPG) reporting.
- Education and development of colleagues around EDI
- Develop the EDI Annual Report for ICB
- Equality Impact Assessments for any Workforce related change
- Development and delivery of EDI action plan
- Working with leadership teams to create personalised inclusion strategies and metrics
- Supporting Equality Networks
- EDI communications and engagement

Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) is responsible for commissioning NHS services on behalf of people in Coventry and Warwickshire. In consultation with local partners, it plans the delivery of services in a way that both meets local health and care needs and reduces inequalities between different groups. The purpose of our ICB is to bring partner organisations together to:
1. improve outcomes in population health and healthcare
2. tackle inequalities in outcomes, experience and access
3. enhance productivity and value for money
4. help the NHS support broader social and economic development.

As an Integrated Care System we have agreed a common vision as well as the principles of how partners will work together. This is underpinned by the Health and Wellbeing Concordat for Coventry and Warwickshire.

This Concordat was agreed by our two Health and Wellbeing Boards and sets out our goal to enable people across Coventry and Warwickshire to pursue happy, healthy lives and put people and communities at the heart of everything we do.

Our vision is more than just an aspiration, it is the driver for real change across Coventry and Warwickshire.

Advisory support
- To work with the Head of HR & OD on ensuring that national legislation, guidance and thinking is highlighted and effectively incorporated into service policies, developments and decision-making processes.
- To remain updated on legislation, case law, best practice and our policies relating to workforce equality providing advice as appropriate.
- Develop and conduct training programmes for line managers providing guidance and advice on EDI.
- Provide EDI sessions for new staff inductions.
- Identify, develop, and deliver training on EDI.
- Undergo EDI training as required.
- Support the development of our zero tolerance approach to address the impact of bullying, harassment, and discrimination.
- Work with our Freedom to Speak Up Guardian, Health & Wellbeing Warriors, and Staff Forum to lead the movement around culture change within the organisation.
- With our system partners lead on the development and delivery of webinars, events, and conferences aimed at celebrating diversity and inclusion.
- Work with the Head of HR & OD ensuring actions are identified and acted upon as a result of the NHS Staff Survey.

EDI support
- To facilitate the sharing of best practice and information through effective evidence gathering and updates to key stakeholders.
- Support the HRBP in the production of Directorate Key Issues reports.
- To develop, support and strengthen the EDI staff network and other associated task and finish groups.
- To provide support to the Chair of the EDI Network
- To act as the lead in the running of the EDI local forums which covers both service and workforce issues.
