Hugh James, a highly ranked top 100 law firm based in the centre of Cardiff, is currently looking to recruit an Assistant Auditor to join their Quality & Risk Department.
- Assist in executing the company’s audit program
- Performing regulatory file audits within a file supervision database for compliance, operational and quality management system audits
- Reporting on the audit findings and areas of non-compliance and identifying opportunities for enhancing internal controls and/or operational efficiencies
- Agreeing corrective and preventative action in conjunction with the Lead Auditor
- Maintaining audit records
- Completing audit evaluations to ensure corrective action has been completed and to review the effectiveness of corrective action.
- Assisting the Quality Manager in preparing audit documentation for external audits
- Maintaining the internal audit library
- Developing and maintaining productive working relationships with all levels of management

The role requires excellent organisational skills in order to work on various audits. The ability to make good judgments based upon observations and supporting information is essential.

The ability to understand quality and regulatory standards is be essential and experience of working in a legal environment would be advantageous.

This role may be desirable to someone who is currently in an administrative or secretarial role who is looking for a new opportunity to develop their skills.
