**Position Overview****:
The Principal Communications Specialist is responsible for managing and executing corporate communications in support of DAI’s global business strategy. With a global mandate that includes our two business lines (DAI Capital and the ODA business), the Principal Communications Specialist works as a multidimensional and collaborative communications professional to advance DAI’s internal and external communications:

- Identifies, seizes, plans, and executes opportunities to tell DAI’s story, and generates content to convey that story, embody the DAI brand, and support DAI marketing and brand-building initiatives.
- Develops knowledge products and marketing materials that highlight DAI’s technical capabilities and position DAI as a thought leader in the sector.
- Assures the quality of communication outputs from external specialists and project experts and provides guidance to communication experts and marketing staff across the company.

The role involves strategic planning, corporate publications and project management, event planning and support, and a significant level of content generation, including social media, in-depth articles and news items, marketing decks, and video, audio, and other media. While housed in the Corporate Communications team and supporting its global remit, the Principal Communications Specialist will also have a particular responsibility for supporting marketing and brand-building efforts associated with the expansion of DAI Capital. The role will therefore entail close coordination with and dotted-line reporting to members of the DAI Capital management team.

This is a full-time permanent position. This position will close on Friday, February 28th.

**Responsibilities**:
**1. Team Management: Oversees and coordinates the work of internal and external communications contributors (authors, designers, video producers, etc.).**:

- Oversee freelancers and consultants contributing to publishing, graphic design, and development of communication materials, communication strategies, and public outreach campaigns.
- Provide strategic communications counsel and support for management, technical staff, and junior communications professionals.

**2. Strategic Planning: With the VP, contributes to annual and other periodical communications planning.**:

- Ensure strategic communication priorities align with and advance the corporate priorities for marketing and business development.
- Coordinate with corporate and business unit management to gather project and business highlights, upcoming events, milestones, and other content relevant to DAI’s communication priorities.
- Identify internal and external communication opportunities and liaise with relevant colleagues to exploit them.
- Coordinate with global corporate, business unit, and project communication managers to ensure seamless and synchronized content creation and distribution across DAI channels. For DAI Capital, this will entail coordination with DAI Magister, MicroVest, DAI Capital Australia, and any other entities coming under the DAI Capital umbrella.

**3. Content Generation: Conceives, writes, and contributes to diverse internal and external products.**:

- Produce content—including articles, white papers, success stories, news items, audiovisual products, award nominations, testimony, web copy, social media posts, internal announcements, marketing brochures, and so forth—for DAI’s website, social media, publications, marketing materials, and other channels, highlighting DAI’s achievements and impact, and articulating DAI’s brand attributes.
- Lead production of video, audio, or other media, from concept and scripting to production and distribution.
- Liaise with in-house and consultant designers as appropriate.
- Update and maintain key DAI knowledge and communications assets (website, Corporate PowerPoint, pitch decks, marketing materials, etc.)

**4. Strategy and Learning: Collaborates with VP and senior communications team staff to ensure that DAI stays at the forefront of communications techniques, technology, and approaches in the communications, development, and finance sectors.****:
**5. Special Projects: Leads projects and ongoing programs as needed, with a focus on business-critical initiatives.**:

- Facilitate and support the organization of corporate events and campaigns such as DAI Alumni Network meetings, webinars, DAI’s Culture Initiative, industry meetings.
