**Contract length**: This is Fixed Term, starting ASAP until 31st October 2023

**Location**: Remote/Hybrid or Office based in Exeter

**About the Role**:
Requirements for the role are a high level of rent collection knowledge, including a good understanding of, and being confident with, the full recovery process including serving Notice Seeking Possession, court action and eviction. Key to this role is managing your own Portfolio with little supervision. It is important that you have excellent decision-making skills, are methodical in your approach to monitoring of accounts falling into arrears, have good communications skills, and can adapt your approach to meet the needs of the customer in a fair but effective manner.

Good current knowledge of a revenues and benefits processing system, housing processing system, financial systems and Dip and Workflow systems
A detailed knowledge of legal procedure, practice and legislation in relation to the collection of rent, council tax, former tenancy arrears and rechargeable repairs.
A detailed knowledge of Housing Benefit and Social Security Legislation, practice and procedure in respect of Housing Benefit recovery methods from first reminder to County Court action
A working knowledge of financial customer solutions available including payment arrangement, discretionary funding and write off, with the ability to explore sustainable ways to maintain and maximise the council's income in a customer focussed way
A good understanding of financial regulation and rules and security protocol in relation to taking customer payments and handling personal and financial information
