Role Overview

As a Health Care Assistant you’ll work as part of a close-knit team providing excellent patient focused care within the 33-bed medical ward which consists of both Neuro and Cardiac patients. You’ll be a caring and compassionate Health Care Assistant, delivering a high standard of care to our patients. We value all our people and will provide you support and a great place to work.

What you’ll do:
- You will be prioritizing patient care needs and complete a comprehensive assessment and escalate accordingly.- You will be carrying out heights and weights on patient arrival as well as maintaining strict patient confidentiality.- Assisting co-coordinating a busy department.- You will be screening patients upon their arrival.- Adhering to the hospitals infection control measures and promoting these within the team.- In addition to this you will attend study days and adhere to 100% compliance of Cromwell Hospital mandatory training timescales.- You will be supporting the consultants in collaboration with the nurses.

What you’ll bring:
- Experience as a Healthcare Assistant (essential)- Hold an NVQ in health and social care- Hold the Care Certificate Qualification or willing to complete the training- Basic Life Support Trained (desirable)- Have a desire to develop both professionally and personally- NVQ Level 2 (Direct Patient Care) or equivalent- Excellent team player- Understanding of safeguarding best practice and awareness of relevant child protection legislation
