An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Emergency Department for dedicated, forward thinking and self-motivated individuals to join our team of Night Receptionist / Clerks.

The shift pattern is 10pm to 8am, two shifts on and four shifts off.

The average working hours equal to 24 hours per week plus night-time enhancement.

This post is suitable for a Job Share of 12 hours per week, working 1 shift on and 5 shifts off.

We are looking to recruit an organised and methodical person with excellent communication and customer care skills. Flexibility to provide holiday and sickness cover for the Night Team Colleagues, often at short notice, is essential.

It is a fast-paced environment, you will need to demonstrate your ability to remain calm under pressure, to use your own initiative and to work with mínimal supervision. You will be expected to book in patients who self-present or who arrive by ambulance, answer telephone enquiries, obtain hospital notes, photocopying, scanning and perform other clerical duties as necessary.

As the Emergency Department runs a 24/7 service, the post holder would be expected to provide cover for Bank Holidays which fall within their shift pattern.

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) Kings Lynn is located near some of the most beautiful scenery in the UK, along the North Norfolk Coast and not far from Sandringham House.

We provide a comprehensive range of specialist, acute, obstetrics and community-based healthcare services to around 331,000 people across West and North Norfolk, in addition to parts of Breckland, Cambridgeshire and South Lincolnshire. We have more than 4,000 staff and volunteers, approximately 530 beds and a helipad for Air Ambulances. We work with neighbouring hospitals for the provision of tertiary services, including as part of regional partnership and network models of care, such as the trauma network. Some specialist services and clinics are provided in community facilities, such as the North Cambridgeshire hospital in Wisbech.
