Professions Delivery Officer

Darlington, United Kingdom Department of International Trade Full time

The Professions team is a small, but vital team, that works across the whole of the Department to promote and deliver against Government professions. Government professions are schemes to support the development of Civil Servants in a particular area of expertise - i.e. policy, analysis and trade to name a few. In DIT, we work closely with the cross-Government International Trade Profession and the Policy Profession so that DIT staff have access to tailored learning and development in their chosen area of professional expertise.

In this role, you will be the day-to-day lead for the International Trade Profession in DIT. The International Trade Profession delivers content that supports the development of skills, experience, and expertise in trade. It also provides a career anchor for all those working in trade, so that they can become experienced trade professionals. More information on the International Trade Profession can be found on the Government website.

This role is a fantastic opportunity for an individual to work across the department, with policy, corporate and strategy stakeholders to help shape the international trade profession agenda in DIT. You will be joining a supportive, energetic, and collaborative team. We are committed to learning and development and we will support you to build your trade expertise.

For this role, the Department will not consider sponsoring a visa or issuing a Certificate of Sponsorship. Please note we are unable to offer advice on any Visa and Immigration cases.

**Job description**
- Develop and manage a network of contacts across the department who are engaged in the profession.
- Manage profession membership numbers and internal communications, including use of SharePoint to deliver content.
- Work with your networks to strategise and organise events and seminars for trade professionals.
- Manage monthly reporting into senior stakeholders, assessing progress against the team workplan and strategy, and working closely with the team lead and senior stakeholders to overcome delivery challenges.
- Communicating DIT views to the cross-Government leads and influencing them to support our ideas.
- Be inclusive when developing engagement plans so that trade professionals working overseas and in all regions of the UK can access professional learning.
- Be a positive force in promoting the International Trade Profession across the department, including working with cross-Government leads to deliver learning and events.

Please be aware that this role can only be worked from within the UK and not overseas.

Informal hybrid working arrangements will be available as agreed with the vacancy manager and in line with the requirements of the role.

Most DIT employees will be working a hybrid pattern, spending 2-3 days a week (pro rata) in an office, on average. If your office location is London, you will be eligible to receive London salary.

DIT will cover travel costs/expenses to any office which is not your usual office location in line with departmental expenses policy. DIT will not cover commuting costs to your agreed office location.

- Planning and organisation skills, to manage competing priorities and multiple strands of work for senior stakeholders.
- Experience of working both independently and as part of a team towards shared goals, taking into account diverse perspectives.
