Business Risk Partner

Purpose
The role holder will work closely with the 1st line as the business risk partner to support day-to-day risk management, control assurance, control embedding and understanding, data analytics and reporting across the various functions of Amlin Business Services.
Key Responsibility and Results Areas
The key responsibilities are to:
- Support with embedding all aspects of operational risk management and the associated policies, procedures and controls (ensuring it is appropriately adopted).
- Provide risk management advice, support to the business, in particular functional leads, ensuring that concepts, approaches and techniques are widely understood and embedded.
- Support a positive, continuous risk and control culture across the business.
- Support a better understanding and execution of controls including ISAE3000 (process controls) and JSOx controls through active assurance and monitoring.
- Facilitate clear and concise reporting both to the functional leads but also to the 2nd line risk function and to committees as required demonstrating that risk is being managed effectively across the business and/or to escalate exposure and issues and support informed decision-making
- Support deep dives following material risk events or issues
- Support the timely management of actions and or the required governance for action extensions with detailed rationale
- Review and Challenge of the reported key risk metrics and Risk Appetite statements, supporting the collation of data for quarterly reporting from Risk owners to the Risk Reporting team.
- Support Functional leads with the Risk and Control assessments and the 1st line Risk Forums
- Where appropriate, support the CRO with Assurance activities including conducting deep-dive, thematic reviews with the functional leads and teams to identify the root cause of any operational risk issues, identify control failings, and agree suitable mitigation to mitigate future reoccurrence/losses.
- Ensure all issues relating to the control environment are captured and actions defined, executed and monitored effectively and on a timely basis.
- Perform data quality on all inputs to the risk management system, support with inputting data when required and hold administration rights to update some fields in support of the risk system management team in the 2nd LOD
- Act as one of the GRC system Administrators and participate when needed in delivering related services to the entities.
- Work with the 1st and 2nd lines to ensure appropriate training is available in the areas of risk & compliance management
