Practice Education Facilitator

To promote quality patient care through the continued enhancement of the clinical learning environment: providing support, educational input and development activities for staff, volunteers, and students. Duties Training Needs Analysis Liaise with clinical departmental leads to understand annual training requirements and work with external providers / partner organisations to meet the current and future needs of the Hospice in terms of competence, staff development and professional growth. Keep up to date with developments in training relevant to hospice/healthcare/palliative care/end of life, together with new technologies and methodologies in learning and development. Support clinical managers with the annual PDP (personal development plan) process, providing advice on appropriate training opportunities, and signoff of clinical competencies Delivery Conduct own research and work with other Hospices, the NHS and similar organisations to develop and share best practice to support team and individual learning.
Contribute towards the production and promotion of a training calendar of events for staff and volunteers. Design and deliver group & individual training sessions, promoting evidenced based practice and assisting in the development of new and improved practices. Liaise with the Workforce Team to ensure appropriate and up to date training provision via the Hospice e-learning system. Clinical practice Ensure the standards and values required for learning, development and assessment are embedded and maintained into every day clinical practice.
Work alongside clinical colleagues to gain a thorough insight into the requirements of the roles across the Hospice teams, to support ongoing clinical practice, and enable informed recommendations for clinical training needs. Actively participate in relevant service meetings as required. Oversee the planning and support processes for newly qualified clinical colleagues and those on placement from university / NHS trusts. Support Hospice senior managers with quality assurance and clinical audit requirements Management information Ensure accurate and up to date training records are maintained through effective partnership with the Workforce Team.
Generate statistics and reports on learning and development activity as and when required, including course evaluation to inform future planning. Budget Be aware of the need to provide a value for money service, operating within the Education & Training budget, and working with senior managers to ensure the most cost-effective training solutions are sourced. Control of Infection Prevention and management of infection is the responsibility of all members of staff and volunteers working at East Cheshire Hospice and forms an integral element of patient safety programmes. Where control of infection regimes are in force they are to be complied with at all times and staff are reminded of the importance of maintaining a high standard of personal and environmental hygiene and to follow local protocols.
