**Entry Level Teaching Assistant**

Do I need to have experience working in a school or in education?
You don’t need to have had experience working in a school or within education, but you do need to have experience working with children or supporting people in a transferable sector like care.
**What past roles do you take people from?**
We would hire people who have worked as nursery nurses, creche assistants, residential support workers, social care, youth workers, special needs support workers, social workers, tutors, nannies, care workers, nurses, midwives, play workers, lunchtime supervisors, cover supervisors, online tutors, and children club supervisors.
**Will I receive training and support to do this role?**
Yes, all staff receive a full week's induction where you take part in-house.
The most important thing is to have a passion for working with children and help guide them to a positive outcome. We are looking for people with passion, patience, and the ability to connect with children who struggle in a mainstream environment.

**Experience with**:
You do not need to come from an orthodox teaching role as this is an assistant role but must have the drive to learn new skills, work with a new team, and be dedicated to getting to know the children in your care.

**What will your job entail**:
You will work as a teaching assistant out in the community and at specialist hubs working on a 1:1 basis, and you may also take part in group work. You will help plan activities and full training on how to do each part of the role will be given. You will also be guided by experienced staff who will support you in the fledgling stages of your new role. You may work in a local library or community center and will need to transport a child between sites from time to time, but this will not be needed every day. You will be part of a child’s ongoing development and a key player in their ongoing development.
**Training, support & career progression**:
You will receive a week's long induction in which you get to meet members of senior leadership and will be walked through every aspect of the role. You will also spend 3
days shadowing other staff to show you what the role is all about. Once you have completed your 6-month probation period, you can go on a teaching assistant course fully funded and take it all the way to level 3. There are opportunities to become a higher-level teaching assistant in the future if you decide to continue on your education journey as they regularly recruit for these roles too if you have your eyes on career progression. Regardless of the level you wish to take this role, you will receive lots of support every step of the way.
