Teach 195 is seeking a Teaching Assistant to work in a Secondary School that is located in the Ilkeston area, situated in Derbyshire.

A Teaching Assistant role will involve working with students closely in varied class sizes or on a 1-2-1 basis. You will ensure the students are on task and provide assistance and support where needed. You may be supporting students that have academic or personal challenges and this may act as a barrier to learning. A positive, get up and go attitude is the driver for this role.

As a Teaching Assistant you must keep the pupils engaged, on track and also support the class teacher with managing the behaviour accordingly by always referring to the school’s behaviour policy.

Within your role, you must create a positive working environment, promoting the schools values. You must collaborate with all members of staff and build exceptional rapport.
- Have a desire to work and inspire students to do better.
- Be able to help the class teacher with a smooth running day and provide your assistance where you can.
- Be flexible and adaptable.
- Have great resilience when dealing with situations that may occur within the school day.
- Follow the school's behaviour policy and act accordingly.
- Have exceptional understanding of behaviour management.
- Have the ability to build relationships with students that refuse to engage in activities.
- Have the ability to de
- escalate different situations that may occur.
- Provide support where you can at any time.

Schedule:
