**Trainee Support Worker - Children's Home**

**Newcastle upon Tyne AREA**

**Responsibilities**:

- Providing emotional and practical support to the children and young people in your care
- Accompanying the children on outings and educational visits
- Participating in the planning and delivery of activities and programmes
- Ensuring a safe and secure environment for all children and staff
- Household tasks and chores
- Attending appointments
- Following strict safeguarding policies and procedures

**Skills and Experience**:

- Previous experience working with children and young people is desirable
- Basic knowledge of child development and safeguarding procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team and under pressure
- Flexibility to work different shifts, including weekends and bank holidays

**Qualifications**:

- Current and valid enhanced DBS check, or be willing to obtain a new one
- Evidence of eligibility to work in the UK
- Full UK Driving licence
