A 12 month secondment opportunity has arisen in the Liverpool and Wirral Bowel screening centre for the position of a Deputy lead Specialist screening practitioner as a job share for 18.75 hrs/week.

You will work closely with the Lead SSP and Programme Manager to support and the Lead admin to lead and train the team of Specialist Screening Practitioners through this period of change. You will have excellent clinical assessment skills to apply, alongside evidence-based decision making to support patients, their carers and relatives taking part in the programme.

Experience of leading a team, undertaking nurse led clinics; and working within Endoscopy/Colorectal/Gastroenterology or GI Cancer is essential.

The post holder will provide clinical and professional leadership to the Specialist Screening Practitioners (SSP’s) within the Liverpool and Wirral Bowel Cancer Screening Programme (BCSP) ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient services for both the FIT abnormal, surveillance and Lynch syndrome elements of the programme within the resources available. The post holder, in liaison with the Lead SSP, will lead on the training and development of the SSPs to ensure the provision of specialist, expert knowledge to clinical colleagues, patients and carers/relatives.
