**Overview of project/role**

The post holder works as part of the Young People’s Skills and Communities team to manage the development and delivery of the ACE NPO funded Creative Careers programme. This is a comprehensive career support and development offer for young people aged 16-25 who are seeking careers in the cultural sector.

This includes managing and supporting apprentices and other young people in entry level roles at the Museum, Young Freelancers and the Khadija Saye Photography Fellow (KSPF); delivering young volunteer projects, employability training and wellbeing workshops; and sharing best practice in the sector through partnership projects and advocacy.

This postholder will focus on young people's engagement - this includes the line management of an apprentice, delivering monthly 1:1s and managing Young Freelancers and KSPF, organising and delivering young volunteer projects and supporting and advocating for the design of new apprenticeships across the organisation.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Develop and manage, efficiently and to budget, the ACE NPO funded programme for young people seeking careers in the creative and cultural sector.
- Ensure that young people have a range of opportunities to be involved with LTM, building their professional networks, helping them to progress and take an actual step on their career paths.
- Ensure active participation through strong relationships and collaborative projects with young people and young people’s organisations.
- Work closely with key internal stakeholders - particularly Operations, Development and Marketing teams - to ensure that the programme is visible, valued and integrated with the wider work of the Museum.
- Using the Learning team’s Theory of Change evaluation framework and working with the Engine Advisory Group, to consistently evaluate and measure impact of the programme to inform its on-going development.
- Line manage the Learning Apprentice: Creative Careers to ensure their professional development is valued alongside their administrative and logístical support for the programme.
- Support 6 Young Freelancers and 1 Khadija Saye Photography Fellows on year-long freelancer development programme.
- Manage freelancers, Young Freelancers, apprentices and people in their early careers to deliver the programmes as needed.
- Develop and maintain external partnerships with cultural sector organisations that support and enrich young people’s skills programming across London and the UK, including Young Freelancers and Photography Fellowship partners.
- Working with the team to advocate for and develop the wider strategic priorities of the museum by finding opportunities to share best practice, create pathways and training so that all early career staff can progress at LTM.
