This is a really exciting opportunity for an experienced public health practitioner to be the public health programme lead for the Healthy Places Programme area in Hull. This broad programme comprises of health improvement areas including tobacco, physical activity, obesity, food and the wider determinants at place including planning and sustainability. It is a varied and high-profile leadership role which includes system leadership, commissioning, partnership development, policy development / implementation and advocacy. Reducing the impact of health inequalities on health and well-being will be a key priority and the post holder will provide visible leadership for the Healthy Places programme across the city and directly engage with local, regional, and national networks to deliver whole system approaches, share best practice, and develop innovative approaches. The postholder will have direct managerial responsibility for two posts in the public health team.

We are looking for someone who is already experienced and committed to this area of work but also willing to continue to learn and develop professionally as part of the public health team. We are currently working flexibly with a hybrid of remote working and an office base at Warehouse 8, Hull City Council offices.
