Transferee and Re-joiner Detective Constables

**British Transport Police** (**BTP) **are looking to recruit **Transferee and Re-joiner's **as **Detective Constable** at** Ivason House CID.**
Constables play a critical front-line role in the prevention and detection of crime and the criminal justice system. Constables work in partnership on a day-to-day basis with local communities, stakeholders and colleagues in order to promote law and order, reduce the fear of crime, provide reassurance and build confidence to improve the quality of life for citizens.
Our CID officers conduct proactive and reactive investigations into complex and serious crimes, ensuring that the best possible evidence is secured and that cases are fully and efficiently investigated to allow a considered decision to be taken about the prosecution of offenders. They also act as a liaison officer for victims and witnesses of crimes being investigated, ensuring that they are made aware of the progress of the investigation with the appropriate support and reassurance.

- Re-Joiners who fall outside of this, will still be considered but will be required to undertake the CID pathway including the National Investigators Examination (NIE) at the earliest opportunity
- Transferees who have not yet completed the CID pathway will be considered as long as they can evidence the required investigative experience as per the Investigator Policing Profile. Successful applicants will then be required to complete the CID pathway at the earliest opportunity and pass the National Investigators Examination (NIE).
