Accounts Office Assistant

**Job description**
John Fox Plant Ltd is a family run business specialising in the hire, sales, service and repair of hydraulic excavator attachments.
We are looking for a part-time accounts office assistant to join our team.
The role will include tasks such as:
- Daily banking along with bank & petty cash reconciliation
- Process weekly payroll payments & monthly supplier payments
- Weekly processing of time sheets
- Staff expense payments
- Creating new customer accounts
- Credit checking of new & existing customers
- Processing, checking and sending sales ledger documents to clients
- Dealing with any sales invoice queries
- Credit control
- Maintaining current processes & systems
- Answering and dealing with telephone calls
- Filing, photocopying, scanning documents
- Maintaining stationery
- Help covering purchase ledger during annual leave periods
- Assisting with HR administrative tasks and projects
- Assisting the hire desk with administrative tasks and projects
- Assisting with completion of accreditation documentation
- Other ad hoc duties
- A good basic understanding of accounting (AAT qualification or working towards qualification would be ideal)
- Sage 50 experience
- The ability to work effectively using own initiative
- Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills
- Attention to detail with accurate and timely data entry and typing skills
- Enthusiasm and a proactive approach to work
- Superb communication skills with a helpful manner
- IT literacy, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office particularly Word, Excel and Outlook
- High level of literacy and numeracy
- Any HSEQ experience would be advantageous
**This is a part-time position Mon - Thurs 9am - 1pm**
**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 16 per week
**Salary**: £11.50-£12.50 per hour
