**Qualified Social Worker - Gloucestershire - Emergency Duty Team**

We are looking for an experienced EDT Social Worker to cover the county of Gloucestershire. Social Workers will cover Adults & Children's but we are looking for staff with experience in children's care primarily. The AMHP role is not part of Gloucestershire'sEDT.
The role will involve working within a small and supportive team of Senior Social Workers where you will be prioritising effectively and making sound judgement in a variety of challenging situations. The Emergency Duty Team works closely with other agenciesthat also work out of hours both in the voluntary and statutory sectors.

All evening shifts are office based from 16:30 to 12:30 and at weekends from 09:00 to 21:00 and 10:00 to 22:00. Our overnights work from home from 17:00 to 09:00am. The expectation is that the evening shift, if required, will carry out any visits.
We have a 5 week rota, basically 2 weeks on then 8 days off, then another 2 weeks on and then 2 weeks off.
This equates overall to 37 hours a week however there is a strong possibility of working overtime.

**Your main responsibilities include**:

- Hold and effectively manage a complex and varied caseload with appropriate supervision, guidance, and support, reflecting the function of the team and the Vulnerable People Service in accordance with policy, procedures, guidance and legislation.
- Undertake work within legislative frameworks including the preparation of written statements and representations to the judiciary at Court hearings.
- You will be accountable for complex decision making in relation to caseloads ensuring professional judgement, service user involvement, needs led assessment, critical reflection, and analysis to inform this.
- You will identify and assess levels of risk and need (within statutory frameworks) in often complex situations. Undertake safeguarding investigations and deliver protective and/or supportive services for individuals at risk and maintain up to date assessments,care plans and reviews.
- You will be preparing statements of need/care and support plans, in consultation with other agencies as appropriate, that reflect the wishes of the individual and lead to the commissioning of personalised packages of care.
- You will undertake direct work with adults and their families in line with care plans.
- You will work co-operatively with both internal and external colleagues across multi - agency boundaries.

**Essential requirements**:

- Social Work England registration
- Eligible to work in the UK
- 2 years+ post-qualified experience
- Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
