**Who are Abertawe Residential Care Ltd?**
Abertawe Residential Care is a small bespoke adult mental health residential care service in Swansea. It's services are tailor-made for each resident to match their own individual and unique requirements so that they can live as independently as possible whilst also being fully supported by a fully trained and caring team of staff. The idea of creating a care home where residents feel fully at ease, safe and given high quality care, whilst being able to have full independence and support was created by the owners, who have a long history of care support within the local community and Swansea health services, and continue to be fully involved at the home.
Not only do we support our residents, we also actively support our employees in their personal development and encourage and foster the opportunity to undertake professional development in the health and social care field with supported training and qualifications offered.

We are seeking compassionate, outgoing and reliable individuals, who have a passion to care for and look after vulnerable and complex adults in a quiet residential home, to sit and chat with them, to support them with day to day tasks such as self care, dressing, washing, cooking and having fun. We encourage the residents and staff to get out on activities, trips, holidays and days out as a home in the local areas as well as further afield.
We expect our staff to provide:
Care in accordance with best practice and legislative requirements, reflecting policies and procedures set out by CIW and SCW and agreed on standards under the direction of the Registered Manager and Senior Staff.
To maintain a clean and safe environment for both residents and staff - adhering to all pertinent Health and Safety Legislation.
Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals they support, to be vigilant of the safety and wellbeing of the residents and fellow staff, to record and report any concerns at the soonest possible moment.
Be have respect, compassion, understanding and patience when working with the adults and their families, putting their needs, wishes and views first and working to the person-centred care plans.
Plan, develop, implement and assess approaches to promote health and well-being, whilst recognising and reporting situations where there might be a need for protection.
When fully training, to provide support for residents including the administration of medication and maintaining accurate records for each resident.

- Essential_
- A desire and passion to work within the Mental Health and Social Care profession
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent numeracy and literacy skills.
- Ability to adapt and address situations quickly.
- Ability to plan, develop, implement and assess approaches to promote health and well-being.
- Willingness to learn and undertake professional development and qualifications in Health and Social Care (QCF).
- Clean Enhanced DBS Check.
