General Summary:
This position reports to the COO or their designee; is located in Banbury, UK. Responsible for managing the day to day and long-term media activities of Haas F1, its sponsors and all associated entities. The Head of Communications serves as a representative of Haas F1’s Communication Department and facilitates successful execution of strategic global communications initiatives at races and special events. This role is responsible for providing direction and advice to other team members.

General Responsibilities:

- Responsible for the overall performance of the department, ensuring targets and milestones are achieved.
- Manage department personnel from recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement through to separation.
- Mentor, train and guide personnel as required. Develop staff using effective performance reviews and development plans.
- Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop trustworthy relationships between all personnel and departments.
- Responsible for establishing and adhering to departmental budgets to maintain a practical yet functional department.
- Produce monthly departmental reports to the COO details the status of the department, including but not limited to, budget actuals and major projects.
- Other duties as assigned by the Chief Operations Officer or Team Principal.

Key Responsibilities:

- This position is the main point person as it relates to communications and public relations activities for Haas F1 Team.
- Leads the creation and drives the implementation of a long-term communications strategy as it relates to traditional and digital media platforms. Track and measure the level of engagement with the various media platforms.
- Manages and is the contact point for assigned media requests and interactions.
- Supervises the activities of all team media coordinators.
- Prepares and writes driver and sponsor press releases, event recaps, proposals, itineraries, etc.
- Works closely with drivers and managers on scheduling and execution of activities including appearances, interviews and special events.
- Responsible for the coordination of accurate content for Haas F1 Team’s digital media platforms, which includes written copy, still imagery, graphics and video.
- Coordinate Haas F1 team website management - ensure that new and consistent information (article links, stories, and events) are posted regularly.
- Liaison with current/prospective sponsors related to information requests, applicable approvals and personnel (drivers, team leadership, etc.) availability, as assigned.
- Preparation and management of annual budget for the department. Capability to self-manage and ensure adherence to the budget.
- Responsible for implementation of crisis management activities, as assigned.
- Responsible for at-track communications with media.
- Follow all safety regulations in all venues.

Education and Work Experience:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in public relations, communications, journalism or related field. A minimum of eight years of experience and competence in managing public relations and marketing specific to motorsports, with significant Formula One experience preferred.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

- Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in public relations, motorsports industry practices (specifically Formula One), sponsorships, traditional and social media, brand management and consumer promotions.
- Proven network of motorsport media contacts and demonstrable relationships - especially within Formula One.
- Ability to supervise others, communicate effectively, and liaise with fellow workers to get desired results.
- Capable of working in a team environment to a very high standard and a positive work attitude.
- Demonstrated self-starter able to think quickly and rationally.
- Demonstrated forward thinker who consistently meets deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Work to a consistently high standard in stressful and time sensitive situations.
- Work well within a team environment with personnel at all levels.
