Our client is a fashion boutique store who are looking for a Finance Controller to oversee the management and financial accounting on a full-time basis and in due course assume full control of all financial aspects for the company. Reporting to the FinanceDirector and Managing Director, the Financial Controller role will cover, but not be limited to, the following duties.

**Responsibilities**
- Management of one member of staff
- Maintenance full accounting and business records for the business
- Preparation of weekly cash flow forecasts/management information
- Management of working capital, including relationships with third party finance suppliers.
- Purchase ledger management, including key reconciliations with stock system and ensuring appropriate authorisations for all invoices
- Sales Ledger, including processing statements, reconciling customer accounts, and chasing of debt
- Work closely with operational colleagues and provide commercial insight to support decision making & key actions
- Take responsibility for the financial control of the company's stock holding, including physical counts, stock health analysis, intercompany and in-transit & 3rd party remote holding
- Cost analysis and control, providing robust challenge to all parts of the business
- Providing information to our external accountant for monthly payroll and management accounting and quarterly VAT returns and in a relevant and timely basis
- Balance sheet reconciliation monthly.
- Annual Budget and Quarterly Reforecasting Process
- Implement and monitor all key internal control procedures
- Identify areas for process improvement, implement change and help instil a continuous improvement mind-set within the business
- Key relationship holder with Bank, Accountants, Funders and Shareholder Representatives.

**Requirements**:

- Excellent interpersonal skills and confidence to challenge senior members of the business
- At least a year of wholesale/retail accounting, or similarly complex accounting experience
- Xero knowledge desirable
- Organised and able to manage own workload
- Being commercially aware and possessing in depth experience of working towards KPIs
- Ability to plan, prioritise and cope under pressure
- Team player and motivator, with gravitas to work with and challenge the business.
- Excellent communication skills, being able to demonstrate an ability to communicate to colleagues at all levels of experience, to non-financial colleagues.
