**About the Role**

We have an exciting opportunity for a **Diversity Equity & Inclusion Lead** within the People, Leadership and Culture Team. This role is a group wide role supporting our businesses across the full footprint of all the countries we operate in to lead and drive change in our DE&I activity, a key part of our strategic priorities.

**Accountabilities**
- Act as the Centre of Expertise on DE&I for Centrica internally and externally, bringing the best of external insights, practice, and thinking into Centrica
- Ongoing development of our DE&I strategy to implement our goals and commitments made in our open letter
- Work with our businesses, leadership teams and various stakeholders across a highly matrix environment to challenge and influence real change that will drive increased diversity and inclusivity across Centrica
- Provide specialist insight, advice coaching, solutions to People Business Partners and Business Leaders on the strategic priorities to evolve our DE&I maturity
- Manage our internal and external metrics, measures, and legislative reporting requirements (Hampton Alexander, Gender & Ethnicity Pay Gap, Parker Review)
- Lead the creation of robust local business unit and group action plans to drive consistent improvements
- Support the development of Group policies and procedures in alignment with any local legislative requirements to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks, where appropriate
- Partner with People, Culture and Capability, Ethics & Compliance, Talent Management, Legal, People Function and Corporate Affairs to influence change and build an inclusive culture by ensuring our policy and practices are equitable and inclusive
- Develop and execute in partnership with internal communications an effective communication and engagement strategy to promote internal awareness of and engagement with the Group’s diversity and inclusion goals, aspirations, and initiatives
- Consult, lead, and advise the Shadow Board, our Colleague Networks ensuring alignment to wider Centrica group’s DE&I priorities
- Working with our L&D team ensure learning, development, and education needs for DE&I priorities are in place including robust and appropriate impact measurement
- Budget management / ad-hoc projects as required

**Competencies and Experience**
- Experience within a DE&I role with a proven track record in influencing Executives across Centrica to drive change
- Strong knowledge of DE&I best practice and relevant legislations
- Ability to translate data into information, provide comprehensive reporting to our Colleagues and Executive on all matters connected to DE&I reporting
- Demonstrates good judgement, can balance business priorities with internal & external stakeholder requirements with a strong commercial mindset
- Ability to set strategic direction and governance, within a matrix environment
- Ability to prioritise actions with biggest business impact
- High level of impact and ability to influence change and communicate with senior business leaders
- Ability to challenge others and hold others to account in a constructive and engaging way.
- Effective communicator, with the ability to translate complexities in a simple, meaningful, and commercially anchored manner
- Continuously developing self and others to deliver business priorities
- Solid and well proven experience delivering initiatives and projects into Senior Leadership teams across multiple business types and locations
- Demonstrated influence with Senior Leadership teams/stakeholders using data, insights and analysis in a simple and clear written papers and presentation formats
- Responsibility for overseeing and managing third party memberships, relevant benchmarking, and submissions
- Lead and deliver multiple priorities with a high degree of flexibility and accountability
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as required
- Programme, project, and change management experience in complex environments.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships

- Ideally degree educated or appropriate relevant work experience
