We are looking for a Catering Assistant to join our team at the Blue Planet Aquarium. You will have an excellent work life balance working predominantly working Monday to Friday shifts between the hours of 9.30am-2.30pm, to cover our key catering trading times.

The Nautilus Kitchen restaurant, is situated next to the main tank, giving unique views of one of Europe’s largest collection of sharks where our visitors can submerge under the water for a unique dining experience - no wetsuit required

We are looking for a dynamic catering assistant to join our catering team at Blue Planet Aquarium. You will mainly be working front of house, taking customers’ orders on the till, serving food and beverages, cleaning and tidying the restaurant. On occasions you may be required to support the kitchen / back of house team.

We can offer shift patterns to work around other commitments such as shifts between the hours of 9.30am-2.30pm, or 10am-3pm, all whilst working in a unique environment, with free on-site staff parking, free entrance for family and friends, free entrance into some other zoos and aquariums, discount in our gift shop and restaurant, plus a friendly, warm and welcoming environment.

**Responsibilities**
- To enhance the customer experience at Blue Planet Aquarium by exceeding customer expectations through excellent customer service and delivering good quality food & drink.
- To serve hot and cold drinks, food from the menu, ice cream, cakes, and desserts.
- To work on the servery / till in either the Nautilus Kitchen restaurant or the ice cream parlour.
- To prepare food and drink to the highest standard, following all health and safety and hygiene procedures.
- To follow correct procedures, including till procedures / cash handling.
- To ensure all saleable products are on display, correctly priced and that stock levels are maintained as appropriate.
- To be cost conscious about wastage and portion size.
- To replenish and maintain food at appropriate levels and to ensure rotation
- To help deliver exciting, engaging and fun Birthday Parties.
- To maximise the sales and spend opportunities by up-selling and suggestive selling.
- To assist in opening and closing the outlets in accordance with procedures.
- To work in the kitchen to support / cover the cook with food preparation in line with menus and recipes.
- To help manage queues and assist in other areas as required including Retail and Visitor Services.

**About you**

You should be clean and well presented with great communication skills and be a real team player. Being organised and timely will be a big advantage to the role and help you manage orders or fulfil the role of expediter during peak trade.
