We are currently recruiting for part time Support Practitioners to join our team and have various contracts available, including sessional work and night shift. You will be required to work shifts - these are generally 7.30 am - 3.00 pm / 2.30 pm - 10 pm, some shifts may include sleepover. As part of your role you will be required to work waking night shift, when this is required to cover night staff, this is from 9.45 pm - 7.45 am. You are required to work across seven days, which will include regular weekend work. We really need a flexible and committed approach to ensure consistency and stability for the people we support.

You will have a can-do positive attitude, be kind, caring and compassionate to ensure the people we are supporting at Blantyre Short Breaks; have the kind of holiday they want and it’s a holiday to remember. We are looking for Support Practitioner’s who have energy, creativity and a drive to ensure that people have the best experience possible.

We are looking for Support Practitioners who have a high standard of value based practice, who demonstrate respect and protect the dignity of people supported at all times.

Every person we support is different, but many have various complex health care and communication needs which we support during their stay. You will be comfortable and confident in following Support Plans, writing reports and ensuring all relevant documentation is compliant.

You will provide direct support to service users with all aspects of daily living under the guidance of the team Supervisor. Such as carrying out all aspects of personal care, administration of medication, assisting with feeding, bathing, washing and dressing.

Our Short Breaks Blantyre service provides short holidays for individuals. The building has been designed for seven adults who have communication support needs and a physical/learning disability. Whilst staying, individuals are offered a range of fun and meaningful activities, both within and out with the building base.

We want the people we support to enjoy their time at Blantyre Short Breaks in a fun, positive environment, where they can be active, involved in what they want to do, engage in activities they enjoy and take part in activities within the wider community, while building personal resilience and making memories.
