Specialist Paediatric Dietitian or Band 5-6 Annex

The paediatric weight management service consists of Specialist Dietetics (this post), Clinical Psychologist and Paediatrician support. Children referred to this service have a BMI greater than 99.6th centile and are referred for specialist input following primary care intervention. The paediatric weight management service is secondary care outpatient clinic based and is a Trust wide service. There are regular joint appointments with the Clinical Psychologist as well as Dietitian only clinics.
The general paediatric dietetic aspect of the role will comprise general clinics and ward work. The paediatric Diabetes service comprises three Dietitians (including this post), six Paediatric Diabetes Specialist Nurses, Clinical Psychologist, Healthcare Assistants, Admin and four Consultant Paediatricians. Paediatric Diabetes patients are seen individually, in groups, or with carers in a variety of settings including hospital wards, group settings, dietetic only clinics, MDT clinics, and home visits. Safeguarding is an integral role of the Specialist Paediatric Dietitian.
