Are you an experienced Speech and Language Therapist looking for a rewarding career?

If so, our client is looking for an SLT to join the team at their 2-bedded unit providing neuropsychiatric rehabilitation for men with mental health difficulties and acquired brain injury or neurodegenerative conditions.

There will be the opportunity to provide cross-cover another 20-bedded female Neuropsychiatry service in Middlesbrough and work closely with the Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist. You will be part of a company-wide SLT service and contribute to the service development initiatives.

**About you**:

- A registered Occupational Therapist with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council)
- Experienced in the field of ABI / neurodegenerative conditions
- An understanding of SLT process/interventions and can take a “hands on” approach
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Passionate about student education
- Dysphagia competencies (desirable) or an interest in developing skills in this area of practice
- This role would also be suitable for an experienced Band 5 SLT who is ready to progress to a band 6 role

- Assess and diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders in individuals of all ages.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address speech and language goals.
- Provide therapy sessions to improve speech production, language comprehension, articulation, and fluency.
- Use a variety of techniques and tools such as exercises, games, and technology to facilitate communication skills.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, educators, and families to provide comprehensive care and support.
- Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress reports.

- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders from an accredited program.
- Current state license or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with speech and language disorders.
- Knowledge of assessment tools and therapeutic techniques for various communication disorders.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients, families, and other professionals.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage caseloads and documentation.
