Today we support over 140 offshore sites in UKCS, 60 of which are O&G producing assets.

**Job Overview**:
To maintain a state of medical emergency preparedness and provide routine health care to all personnel onboard assigned installation/vessel/work site in accordance with International SOS Medic Standing Orders (MSO) and at all times abiding by a code of conduct and principles of medical confidentiality as per legislative requirements.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Ensure all medical equipment, stretchers, gases are functional, regularly inspected and maintained, including calibration of required items in accordance with manufacturers guidelines
- Lead first aid team and co-ordinate all first aid team activities and regular training
- Provide First Aid training on board to the First Aid and Emergency Response Teams
- Conduct Safety Inductions to assist Safety Advisor when they are not available
- Conduct Hygiene Inspections of the Accommodation and Catering facilities
- Carry out (or assist HSE) Manual Handling Assessments (MHA) where required. HSE Advisor is MH Focal Point for assessments.
- Complete a comprehensive handover, wherever required, at the end of each trip Awareness of IADC and OSHA Guidelines
- The Medic acts as the offshore Responsible Person / Focal Point for the management of Legionella on the installation
- Ensuring that a written water management and legionella control scheme is in place based on the installation potable water and legionella risk assessments.
- Accessing medical advice in the event of a suspected incident.
- The Medic will act as the Noise Competent Person on board the Installation and shall ensure that all the necessary duties are executed in a timely manner to effectively manage the noise hazard to the POB then ensuring these arrangements are in place and effective, including any required training and worksite monitoring.
- Supporting Medical Advisor with any identified health surveillance requirements.
- Supporting the Face Fit testing program
- Advise on identified in the COSHH risk assessment process.
- Ensure that the Benzene Monitoring Record is completed correctly by the Area Operator and that these records are maintained
- Providing advice to line management on the selection of suitable control measures including Respiratory Protective Equipment/Personal Protective Equipment (RPE/PPE) where applicable
- Taking and processing urine samples for biological monitoring of benzene in the circumstances where the COSHH Assessment calls for this and following the medical provider’s procedure.
- Assisting departmental Supervisors/Leads by participation in the task risk assessment associated with the work that will potentially release hydrocarbon vapours that could contain Benzene.
- Monitoring and reviewing contractor COSHH assessments for activities involving potential exposure to benzene, to ensure compliance with the COSHH regulations and site benzene management system and thus demonstrating statutory compliance.
- The Medic is responsible for Face Fit Testing for ensuring that this document is kept current in accordance with relevant regulations and good industry practices.
- The Medic will assist HSEA with HAVS coordination
- The HSEA is responsible for the overall policing of this procedure, training personnel in HAVS awareness, maintaining training records, ensuring trigger time exposures are recorded
- They also assist Supervisors in the conduction of over-exposure interviews (beyond 2.5m/s2).
- Medic conducts full ERT Part 1 and Part 2 Medical Assessments

**Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications**:
Qualifications and Skills Essential to the Role
- Eligible to work, or resident, in the UK
- Registered Nurse (Adult), with at least 3 years’ post-graduation experience within one or more of: A&E, ICU, HDU, OOH’s Service, ANP, Medical or Surgical Assessment Unit, OR;
- Royal Navy Medical Assistant (at Leading Hand or above), OR;
- Royal Marines Medical Assistance (at Corporal or above), OR;
- British Army Combat Medical Technician Class 1 (at Corporal or above), OR;
- Royal Air Force Medical Assistant (at Corporal or above), OR;
- Royal Fleet Auxiliary Service Medical Technician, OR;
- HCPC Registered Paramedic with significant experience in one or more of: Rapid Response, Emergency Care Practitioner, OOH’s Service
- MSO Declaration
- Computer literacy
- Strong team player
- Excellent communications skills, written and verbal
- Analysis and problem solving
