**Hours**:16 per week
**Salary**:25,571.00 pro rata plus working from home allowance and mileage
**Location**:Cornwall - The role is community/home based with travel throughout Cornwall
Interviews will be held on 20th and 21st February.

**Key Purpose of the role**:
The Housing & Welfare Officer plays a pivotal role in the work that United Response does. As part of the support service that we provide to our tenants the Housing & Welfare Officer visits on a regular basis at least fortnightly in person, more frequently if required. The Housing and Welfare Officer spends time with them discussing how they are getting on in their home, whether they are getting adequate support and how United Response can support them to thrive.
This is not a role that involves personal care however, United Response works closely with care providers to ensure that the tenant is getting the right support for their needs. The role is about building a trusting relationship with the tenant, ensuring they live in a safe environment. Supporting to maintain the property and keeping the property free from clutter and damp. Support with budgeting/benefits as required. Learning about their aspirations for the future and supporting them to grow as well as reporting and dealing with any maintenance issues at the properties.
**Essential Criteria**
- Experience in social care or support particularly learning disability and/or autism.
- Experience of supported living and/or private sector lettings.
- Knowledge of tenancy agreements and basic housing law and practise.
- Experience of working with people who have additional support needs of some kind.
- Communicative, proactive and compassionate personality and approach.
- Flexibility with working hours.
- Comfortable with lone working with vulnerable adults.
- Located in Cornwall locality as you will be required to cover Cornwall.
- Willing to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
- A ‘team player’ and a flexible attitude.
- Must be car owner with full license and business insurance.
