**1:1 Teaching Assistant**

A Primary we work with in Stroud is currently looking for a full time SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team. This will be Monday to Friday and will be 8:30-3:30. The role itself is providing 1:1 social, emotional and mental support to a child in KS2 that has experienced trauma and needs some additional support in the classroom and at break/lunch time. This role is needed as soon as possible.

The school has a great reputation with a welcoming environment. They need someone who has an understanding of behaviors and mental health, and someone who can deal with this is an empathetic way. Therefore, experience with working with this is very desirable. You must be calm and caring, with a friendly approach and a positive attitude. Experience of working within the classroom is essential.

**What will you be doing on a day to day basis?**
- Working with pupils either in a 1:1 or group capacity
- Build effective, trusting relationships with children
- Be flexible, adaptable and able to act proactively to unpredictable situations
- Be reflective and fully committed to continued professional development
- Foster excellent working relationships with staff, parents and other professionals
