Shipping Coordinator

An excellent opportunity to join an international business to organise the importation of all their freight from around the world via sea, air, and road. Your role will be to organise efficient and cost-effective shipment of goods from all parts of the world to customers based in UK, EU and USA.

Role requirement:

- To negotiate freight rates from overseas origins to country of sale.
- To be responsible for maintaining a record of all current freight costs and communicating that information to the Commercial Team for use in setting selling prices.
- To monitor shipment of goods and take any actions necessary to maintain the estimated shipment programme.
- To maintain computer data of shipment progress in real-time.
- To communicate shipment problems with the Shipping Lead.
- To arrange clearance of all goods in full accordance with Tariffs and any quotas.
- Arrange inland haulage and work with Customer’s goods-in systems to ensure smooth and timely arrival at Customers.
- Work closely with Customers to communicate any delivery issues early and devise actions to ensure the Customers’ requirements are fulfilled.
