**Job overview**:
To administer, maintain and co-ordinate the logístical aspects for research studies for the Neurology/Neurodegenerative Research Team in compliance with ICH/GCP, Standard Operating Procedures and Trust polices. To provide an administrative service to the clinical research team. To act as the pivotal point of contact between the sponsors, potential sponsors clinical research team and Trust. The role will also require liaison with consultants and senior staff to provide administrative support with use of medisec, diary management and occasionally minute taking

**Main duties of the job**:

- Typing and formatting of letters and reports where appropriate; meeting timescales as directed by your line manager.
- To take minutes of meetings, type and distribute to all members of staff and to follow up actions as required.
- Collate, provide, receive and appropriately store (manually and electronically) sensitive and confidential information.
- Maintain administrative systems set up in team offices to ensure an organised and efficient working environment for staff.
- Responsible for assisting with the booking of team training and responsible for maintaining local training records
- Undertake reception duties if required.
- Archiving of documents

The Neurology Research Team at Salford is based at Summerfield House and study visits conducted at the Barnes Clinical Research Facility within Salford Royal Hospital. We are a team of Research Nurses, Research Practitioners and Research Assistants.

Whilst based at Salford there maybe requirements at times to travel and work at other sites.

- Knowledge and relevant experience equivalent to NVQ Level 3
- ECDL or equivalent

**Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience**:

- IT literate, including ability to demonstrate Microsoft Office and internet skills, with an aptitude for developing IT systems to record and retrieve clinical trials data
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage and prioritise own workload with mínimal supervision and to strict timescales
- Good comprehension skills
- Set up and manage documentation systems
- Ability to pick up new ideas quickly
- Displays sensitivity to others and respects confidentiality
- Experience of working autonomously and as part of a Team.

**Desirable criteria**:

- Experience of working in a clinical environment.
- Relevant experience of research.
- Knowledge of ICH-GCP Knowledge of research governance framework
