**Job overview**:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join Children’s Services in the community. The role is to work within the team to provide comprehensive administrative support with a primary focus on Orthoptics.

There is a high level of contact with external and internal service users therefore good interpersonal skills are a priority. Strong organisational skills and accuracy are required and the ability to flexibly manage and prioritise a full workload.

Working closely with the other members of the team and support manager to provide an excellent administrative service to consultants and AHP's. Liaising regularly with external and internal partners. Ensuring the EHCP process runs smoothly and in a timely manner. Using pivots to ensure RTT targets are hit. Responsible for managing the patient appointment booking line within the service booking and amending and issuing clinic appointments for children as required using the Trust system.

**Main duties of the job**:
To provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to the consultant, AHP and Nursing services within the Children’s Service.

- Experience of Trust systems ie Patient Centre, Medisec

- Understanding of confidentiality and data protection

**Desirable criteria**:

- Understanding of 18 week RTT principles.
- Medical Terminology

**Qualifications**:
**Essential criteria**:

- GCSE English Level C or above or equivalent
- NVQ level 3 in Business administration

**Desirable criteria**:

- Word Processing qualification RSA II or Equivalent experience
- ECDL
