**JOB SUMMARY**
You will play a crucial role in supporting the overall operations of the trade depot and assisting the Trade Counter Manager. Your primary responsibilities will include providing exceptional face-to-face customer service, handling customer queries and complaints, assisting with stock management, processing payments, and maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of the trade counter. Working closely with the Trade Counter Manager, you will contribute to delivering a personalised service, meeting customer needs, and ensuring the smooth operation of the depot.

Delivering to the flooring retail and commercial trade, we pride ourselves on being a market leader, continuously adapting to meet our customer’s needs and always providing a world class customer experience. **This is a new trade depot based in Loanhead, and initial training will take place in Baillieston, Glasgow - mileage charges will be provided for the training period.**

**RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES**
- Providing excellent face-to-face customer service, addressing customer queries and complaints at the trade counter.
- Assisting with depot stock management, including conducting stock checks, ensuring accurate inventory levels, and assisting in stock replenishment.
- Collaborating with the Trade Counter Manager to verify and sign for received goods, ensuring the relevant paperwork is filed properly.
- Embracing a dynamic and hands-on role that entails a certain degree of manual handling.
- Supporting the Trade Counter Manager in managing product returns and exchanges, following established procedures, and ensuring timely processing.
- Checking stock availability for customers, processing orders accurately, and assisting in upselling products when appropriate.
- Maintaining a safe and clean working environment, following Health and Safety Regulations, and contributing to regular risk assessments.
- Interacting with customers to not only address inquiries, but also to sell our range of flooring products. As the depot evolves, upselling and cross-selling procedures will be cultivated, allowing you to contribute to the trade depot’s growth.
- Processing customer payments via cash and card, ensuring accuracy and following established procedures.
- Collaborating with the accounts/credit control team in the main Glasgow depot to ensure account customers are up to date with payments before releasing goods.
- Assisting in maintaining the trade counter’s cleanliness, tidiness, and overall presentation.
- Providing basic product advice and information on the range of flooring products to customers.
- Assisting in the opening and closing procedures of the building, following security protocols, and contributing to proper maintenance.
- Working closely with the Trade Counter Manager, providing support and assistance as needed.
- Continuously seeking opportunities to improve customer service, processes, and efficiency, providing feedback to the Trade Counter Manager.
- Assisting in preparing regular reports on sales, inventory, and other relevant metrics, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.

The jobholder should also perform any other task or activity that falls within the overall scope of the job.

In the absence of the Trade Depot Manager, you will be entrusted with assuming the responsibilities of the Manager role, ensuring the smooth functioning of the depot.
