We’re now looking for a Production Co-ordinator to work in our topical output team based in Cardiff.. If successful, you’ll be part of a team of PCs working on programmes such as Saturday Live, Any Questions? Any Answers? and Last Word.

The right person will be an excellent organiser and team player. You’ll have a good knowledge of Audio, amazing administrative and business skills and an interest in Radio 4 programmes.

BBC Audio Wales and West of England

We’re a new hub within BBC Audio bringing together network radio production teams in Cardiff and Bristol. Staff have opportunities to collaborate, develop ideas and further their careers across a wide variety of output for all the BBC Radio networks, the World Service and BBC Sounds. Our areas of production include: current affairs, science, factual, rural affairs, food, documentaries, books, music and drama.

Main Responsibilities
The Production Co-ordinator provides logístical and co-ordination support to the production team on one or more productions, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.

As a production co-ordinator you will:

- Work in partnership with editorial colleagues to deliver outstanding, distinctive, multiplatform content by providing the ways to realise editorial ambitions within operational and financial constraints.
- Compiling pre and post production paperwork, as well as any other programme metadata required.
- Clearing copyright material for all platforms
- Support both the prep and TX of live programmes
- Booking and procuring resources required to deliver the programmes
- Provide administrative support for the production office
- Negotiate artist and contributor fees.
- Run the rota of phone answerers for the live TXs

As role supports live programmes you will be expected to work a Tuesday to Saturday working pattern
- Demonstrable experience of playing a co-ordinating role within a production team
- Experience of delivering a range of/parts of productions on time and on budget and of coordinating deliverables for productions
- Good working knowledge of end-to-end multi-platform production with a level of technical awareness
- Excellent organisational and planning skills - able to schedule and prioritise people and activities to meet operational deadlines
- Able to use and advise on production systems and adopt new technologies on productions
- Knows how to identify and source suitable resources and negotiate deals within given parameters
- Business and finance skills - able to prepare, manage and/or monitor specific production resource plans and budgets
- Knowledge of the BBC and the wider industry
