Mechanical Fitter
An opportunity has arisen to join a lithium chemical industry based in Basingstoke. As the Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for performing daily upkeeping, reactive and preventive maintenance and supporting new and existing plant work. This is a fulltime, permanent position.
Responsibilities for a Mechanical Fitter:

- Assist engineers with new engineering/ mechanical developments and implementation including production methods, process flow, machinery, components and much more
- Be preventative, reactive and schedule maintenance of plant equipment
- Assist engineering/ mechanical projects such as new installations, modifications to existing plant as well as design, fabrication, procurement, and commissioning
- Assist in the safe operation of the production plant and equipment, including troubleshooting
- Identify engineering/ mechanical improvements
- Review and implement risk assessment
- Liaise with suppliers to obtain stock of components, fittings, and spares

Requirements:

- Experience working as a multi-skilled engineer, maintenance/ mechanical fitter or in a similar role
- Knowledge of metal fabrication techniques
- Has a good knowledge of fluid power and workshop equipment
- Knowledge of welding is desirable
- Competent computer skills, especially in all Microsoft Office packages

**Benefits**:

- Monday to Thursday 8:00am - 17:00pm, and Friday 8:00am - 16:00pm
- 25 days holiday plus bank holiday

- Salary is £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience
