**Mechanical Fitter**

A market leading chemical manufacturing business based in Basingstoke is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter to join its team on a permanent basis. As Mechanical Fitter, you will take a primary focus on mechanical plant maintenance duties, statutoryinspections and following strict COMAH regulations - whilst having the ability to collaborate with a multi-disciplined team.

**Mechanical Fitter Responsibilities**
- Mechanical plant installation and modification work including TIG welding of pipework etc.
- Mechanical preventative and reactive maintenance work in an industrial environment working on equipment such as gearboxes, pumps, mechanical seals, pipework etc.
- Statutory inspections - pressure testing, plant integrity and commissioning work.
- The use of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems.
- The ability to use and interpret equipment drawings, manuals, and other technical information to assist with all works.
- Work in accordance with the company safe systems of work and permit to work systems.

**Mechanical Fitter Requirements**
- You will ideally possess a qualification in an engineering discipline from a recognised institute (NVQ, ONC, City & Guilds, Apprenticeship).
- Fault-finding experience.
- Previous work experience operating in a fast-paced environment, completing mechanical installation, modification, and maintenance on machinery.
- TIG welding of pipework experience.
- Proficient in IT systems.
- Self-motivated coupled with the ability to work well within a team.
