We are delighted to offer an opportunity for a full-time Band 4 Research Assistant Psychologist to support a National Institute of Health Research -funded research grant. The position is available until 31st December 2024.

The research study, DISCOVERY, aims to undertake a realist evaluation of post-diagnostic dementia support in the UK Recovery College model.

The position will support the study project manager and wider research team to deliver the key objectives and aims of the study. These include supporting the conduct of participatory workshops and to complete a scoping review of outcome measures.

The successful applicant will be hard-working and dedicated to supporting health improvement, with a positive outlook on the importance of clinical research to support the wellbeing of older people and their families.

They will require very good communication, organisational and technical skills to support equitable inclusion of stakeholders on the studies.

A 12 month fixed-term contract is on offer to an enthusiastic assistant psychologist with experience of working in an older people's setting, to support delivery of intervention development through a mixture of clinical research, literature and administrative tasks.

The role will require the ability to travel independently to local and national sites

Role Summary
- Assist in the promotion development, implementation and evaluation of clinical research trials and projects
- To support the Research team on local and national research projects as required
- To carry out research-related coordination, conduct of audit/evaluation and collection of data
- Assisting in clinical & psychometric assessments with service users / participants experiencing mental health difficulties under the

direction of a qualified clinical psychologist or senior clinical research staff.
- Undertaking analysis of the extent of symptoms, degree of functioning, and different types of experience for research purposes.
- To feedback assessment results to clinical and research team members.
- To plan and prioritise own workload within the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures.
- Responsibility for creating, developing and management of several databases and the writing of reports for research and clinical use

under the direction of research clinical psychologists and/or senior clinical research staff.
