**Claims Adjuster - **Regional**

**Main function of job**:
Under supervision to be responsible for the claim handling, including investigation, evaluation and resolution of claims across a number of professional indemnity lines of business working closely with other team members in the claims team as well as collaborating with colleagues in the regulatory and ops team and colleagues in the legal business.

**Relationships**:

- **Responsible to**:Claims Manager
- **Works with**: Colleagues across all DWF Claims teams
- **Liaison with**: Employees at all levels within DWF and clients

**Main Duties**:

- To proactively manage and progress own workload in line with service level agreements, best practice and internal policies and processes;
- Follow at all times any applicable client claims reserving philosophy and claims standards, including adherence to contractual service standards;
- To work flexibly in adjusting to changes in priority of workload;
- Awareness of relevant client strategies and ensure implementation on cases / projects;
- Achievement of individual KPI's and contribution to team performance at a high level, including financial and non-financial measures where applicable;
- To research solutions to problems/issues on cases / projects to develop your own technical knowledge;
- To deliver revenue for the team through existing business activity and developing own professional network;
- Generate ideas for implementation which develop new ways of working and challenge the status quo;
- To be proactive in problem solving on cases through identifying potential issues and solutions, always adding value to the case / project;
- Full engagement in the Firm's Performance Review cycle;
- To demonstrate the Firm's Winning Behaviours, delivering a commitment to the firms values and CSR agenda.

**Skills and Abilities**

**Essential**:

- Experience the Professional Indemnity legal field/ technical skills set required to undertake the role and experience and sound judgment handling financial lines of business.
- Ideally, experience of managing key client accounts.
- A proven track record of success both in terms of financial results and client service.
- Proactive attitude and a team player
- Computer literate including proficient use of Microsoft Office.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise effectively and manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail to be able to carefully analyse information.
- Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Excellent teamwork skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability in your attitude and approach to work.
- Business acumen and an understanding of the clients' needs.
- Ability to build effective professional relationships both with external clients and internal colleagues.
- High level of financial and commercial awareness.
