**Key Purpose of Role**:
An opportunity has arisen within Turkington Holdings for the role of HR & Payroll Officer. If you have experience using Payroll software and an HR background and are looking for part time hours, this is a great opportunity for you.
The successful person will support the management team and employees with HR & Payroll support, advice and services to the wider business as required.
Due to the nature of the role, you will work autonomously and must have the confidence to work proactively to identify projects and support and lead on these projects as well as the operational day to day requirements of the role. The role is part time, 20-24 hours per week with occasional travel across NI to various sites.
Flexibility of hours to be discussed at interview stage.
**Responsibilities of the role will include but are not limited to**;
- General HR admin and project support
- HR support, advice, and guidance
- End to end Recruitment & Selection including induction
- Policy review and development
- Supporting disciplinaries and grievances
- Employee engagement
- Performance management
- End to end processing of weekly and monthly Payroll
**Essential Criteria**
2 years' experience working in a HR generalist role, to include responsibility for the following processes:
- Recruitment & Selection
- FEC and Article 55 Monitoring
- Absence management including long term sick and occupational health
- Discipline & Grievance
- Payroll management
- Advising on employment law matters
2 years’ experience working in a payroll roleExcellent knowledge of payroll legislation
- Good understanding of Pensions and all regulations
- Prepare journals and be financially literate to understand the impact of changes in payroll
- Accuracy and strong attention to detail
- Computer literate particularly with Microsoft products (specifically to have advanced Excel skills)
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to form effective working relationships with people at all levels
- Ability to manage time/workload effectively
- Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality
- Excellent communication skills
**Desirable Criteria**
- Membership of CIPD
- Knowledge of redundancy and TUPE processes.
- Generalist HR experience within the Construction Industry
- Investors in People standard - Including Generation 6
