Job Introduction
**Residential Group Worker (Children’s Home Worker)**
Acorns is a small Children’s home in Bexhill with a supportive and welcoming staff team. Our home supports young people who have a range of needs, including learning disabilities and social, emotional and mental health need. At times young people may present with complex challenging behaviours, and the team prides itself in becoming specialists for each individual, supporting them with their day to day lives, whilst also creating a nurturing, happy and homely place to live.
The role can be demanding but rewarding, with high levels of staffing and management support to ensure staff can feel safe and confident in their role. We offer a long induction period of training and shadowing, and are looking for a range of people who would like to contribute to the ongoing development of our friendly and caring environment, where children are supported to overcome challenges and learn new things every day.
The Group Worker role involves leading shifts, alongside a team which includes other Group Workers, administering medication and assisting young people with all aspects of their lives. This can include helping young people to develop life skills, access education (in the home) and new learning opportunities. It may involve undertaking physical restraints and other specialist tasks, after comprehensive training has been given.

Additional Information
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
Due to the restrictions we cannot guarantee that individuals that meet the requirements of the Points-based Immigration System will be issued with clearance to obtain work permits.
