Mental Health Support Worker Opportunity

We are looking for an enthusiastic Mental Health Support Worker to join our team at Academics in Bexhill-On-Sea. This role is ideal for individuals with aspirations in social work, particularly supporting children facing challenges at home.
The specialist school caters for residential and day pupils aged 5-19. As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will assist with speech, language, and communication difficulties as well as complex learning needs.
Our total communication environment ensures students can express their wishes and staff respond accordingly.
Responsibilities:- Assist with 1:1 and group interventions using personalized methods to accommodate individual needs
- Encourage alternative communication methods, including Makaton, Sign Language, PECS, and TEACHH
- Work with children who have special educational needs
The estimated salary for this role is around £25,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
